OZOBOTS

This week we tried something new called OZOBOTS with our TIS (Technology Instructional Specialist).  The class was very excited to learn something new.  They took to it very quickly and enjoyed these new little robots.

Ozobots are robots that read color.  They can see black, blue, red, and green.  They can move faster, move slower, turn around, etc.

We first made a big black dot to calibrate it.  Then each of the partner sets used a black marker to make their first initial.  Later, we added blue and red to the end to make it turn around and keep going.

The Ozobots come with some preprinted "playgrounds" which were very fascinating to the class.

They have lights on them, so turning out the overhead lights in the classroom caused a lot of "oooooohhhhhhs" and "aaaaaaahhhhhhs".

The class had a fun time!  It was a great "rainy day" activity since the playground was too wet from the short rainstorm we had earlier that day.

Here is a website that might be helpful.
